A Year of Vervint: Looking Back, Looking Forward

People at the heart with three images of families interacting with connected products

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a full year since OST officially rebranded to Vervint. For nearly three decades, we have walked alongside our clients on their digital journeys. From supporting and maturing IT infrastructure to strategizing and building digital products and experiences, we have evolved our business time and time again to serve our clients better.

Our purpose is progress, and we’re on a mission to create meaningful impact, going beyond great tech. This influence carries ripples of impact across our clients, their customers, our employees, Alutiiq shareholders, and communities for generations to come.

A New Chapter

The Rebrand

In October 2023 the new brand was unveiled. Incorporating a warm, playful palette of colors and an accessible, conversational tone, the Vervint brand was created with intention and purpose.

What does it mean? Real, human, empowering, purposeful – we are Vervint because it captures these qualities that makes us, us.

Starting with verv, it feels alive and brings the same inherent optimism as "fervent" or "verdant" (coincidentally two of our other fantastic traits.)

We're also intentional; intelligent. We move with integrity; understand our clients and their customers intimately.

Our suffix int anchors who we are what we care so much about: the people at the intersection of strategy, technology, and experience.

Launch Party

In November 2023, we officially launched the Vervint brand, celebrating in-person and virtually with our Vervinteers.  It was a day of celebration and gratitude. We cheered to the closing of the OST chapter and the beginning of the Vervint journey.

Vervint’s Director of Marketing, Danielle Haskins, stood proudly next to her team as they showcased the brand work the Marketing team had completed over the past two years.

“Open Systems Technologies, or OST, led us through 27 years of growth, evolution, and incredible moments of triumph with our clients. To get where we want to go — as a nationally recognized digital consultancy — we knew we needed a brand that could both speak to our heritage and point to our future. The word Vervint stems from verve: meaning energy and liveliness. Int — our own suffix that is meant to represent how we lead at the intersection of technology and human creativity.”

Jim VanderMey, Vervint’s CIO and Co-founder, reflected on the OST to Vervint historical journey – celebrating the past, the launch of the new brand, and the future ahead of us. Jim also unveiled his new branded license plate. “I am proud of the “OST is now Vervint” moment.”

Vervint in the Wild

Over the last year, we’ve been out and about in our communities. Vervinteers attended a variety of industry and community events with our partners and friends — building new connections and continuing to nourish longtime partnerships. We spanned our reach as we attended multiple conferences, worked with clients across the nation, and served our local communities through volunteer work.

Koniag

In August, Vervint’s President & CEO, Lisa Jilek, and Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Kyle Nelson flew to Alaska for Koniag’s annual community service project. They had the opportunity to serve the community of Dig Afognak, a youth Alutiiq cultural immersion camp on Afognak Island. Lisa and Kyle spent their time painting cabins, repairing sidings, staining decks, clearing brush, and improving trails.

“It was incredibly rewarding to participate in the service project at Dig Afognak and contribute to something so meaningful for the community’s youth.” — Lisa Jilek

We’ve been part of the Koniag family of companies since 2012 and are so proud to support the preservation and development of the Alutiiq culture. Koniag Inc., an Alaska Native Corporation, provides sustainable benefits to more than 4,500 shareholders from the Kodiak Archipelago.

Looking Forward

We are so excited for what is to come! New opportunities arise every day, and we’re looking forward to keeping people at the heart of all we do: for our team, our business, and our community. Thank you for all that you do, and all of your contributions that will help us write the next chapter of the Vervint story.
